JIAN WEN et al: DETECTION AND MEASUREMENT OF INTERNAL DEFECTS FOR TREE TRUNK BY GPR
نویسندگان
چکیده
Application of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in tree trunk internal defects test is technically a Non-destructive Detection (NDT), especially suitable for the measurement of old and rare trees. The living trees complex internal structure makes the wooden medium highly anisotropic and heterogeneous. GPR uses the principle of the scattering of the electromagnetic wave which propagates through the medium and is reflected from object. The velocity of the scatter signal is determined primarily by the permittivity of the material which is influenced by water content and density. For rising the precision of NDT to old willow internal detects, in our investigation, we analyse the model of relationship between the dielectric constant and the moisture content of the ancient willow, the model was used in maintenance experiment of ancient Salix babylonica at the Summer Palace Beijing China. The test results indicate that the precision of internal defects measurement can be improved to 5% by using the relationship model, without which the precision is beyond 10%.

A local measurement-based protection scheme for DER integrated DC microgrid using Bagging Tree
In recent years, DC microgrid has attracted considerable attention of the research community because of the wide usage of DC power-based appliances. However, the acceptance of DC microgrid by power utilities is still limited due to the issues associated with the development of a reliable protection scheme. The high magnitude of DC fault current, its rapid rate of rising and absence of zero cros...
متن کاملDetermining the Reliability and Validity of the Persian Version of a Sports Nostalgia Questionnaire
Marketers apply a variety of approaches to attract customers and gain more profits. One method is the utilization of nostalgia marketing. The use of nostalgic sport characters has not been sufficiently studied. This research determined the reliability and validity of the questionnaires presented in the studies Evoked Nostalgia by Pascal et al. (2002), Familiarity with Nostalgic Character by Mey...
متن کامل3D Ground Penetrating Radar to Detect Tree Roots and Estimate Root Biomass in the Field
The objectives of this study were to detect coarse tree root and to estimate root biomass in the field by using an advanced 3D Ground Penetrating Radar (3D GPR) system. This study obtained full-resolution 3D imaging results of tree root system using 500 MHz and 800 MHz bow-tie antennas, respectively. The measurement site included two larch trees, and one of them was excavated after GPR measurem...
متن کاملDetection of Shallowly Buried Landmines from Ground Penetrating Radar Signals
A method for detecting shallowly buried landmines using sequential GPR data is presented. After removing dominant coherent component of ground surface reflection from GPR data, three kinds of target features related to wave correlation, energy ratio, and signal arrival times are extracted. Since the detection problem treated here is reduced to a binary hypothesis test, an approach based on a li...
